Yapa exists because commerce, experience, and wealth were never meant to live in separate systems. We are building the infrastructure that holds them as one.

i. Origin

Why Yapa exists.

Every operator we have spoken to lives across disconnected systems. A point-of-sale here, a ledger there, an inventory tool elsewhere, a finance product that knows none of it. The work of holding them together is silent, unpaid, and endless.

Yapa begins from a simple conviction: the divisions are not real. A day of work is a single motion, and the system should feel that way too. Commerce, experience, and wealth are parts of one reality.

We are building infrastructure, not applications. The difference matters. Infrastructure is measured in decades.

ii. Principles

What we hold to.

Five principles guide the design of the system. They are stated plainly because we intend to keep them.

Clarity over novelty

Every element earns its place. If it does not serve understanding, it is removed.

Continuity over silos

What is true in one surface must be true in the system. Ndonga keeps this honest.

iii.

Calmness over attention

The system should recede. The work should feel the way good light feels — present, unobtrusive.

iv.

Memory over metrics

Numbers matter, but meaning matters more. We build for the decisions people return to over years.

v.

Patience over urgency

We ship slowly on purpose. Infrastructure cannot be rushed without being broken.

vi.

Dignity over performance

The people using Yapa are not users. They are operators, stewards, builders. We design for them.

iii. Company

Yapa is built by Ony Group.

Ony Group is a small company of operators, engineers, and designers who have spent a decade building systems for commerce, finance, and movement. Yapa is our central work.

We are funded for patience, not for speed. We are headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, with partners and operators working from across the continent the system is built to serve.
